Most of the guys I have meet through social network sites have been no different then the ones on the dating sites. I’d much rather just meet someone offline for a change!

I think the idea of group settings is fine when the common ground of the group is not to meet other singles but something else. I have thrown many ‘client’ parties over the years and found that there has to be another common ground other then the fact that they are all single because it makes people feel as if they are on display.

Trish makes a very good point! In a post I wrote a while ago, and something that I posted on my website, I pretty much said the same thing. Show me where (online or in person) there aren’t freaks.

Another side note about social sites these days are that many have gotten, and apply, the principle of larger gatherings. They are much safer, allow people to get to know one another in a larger setting, and most importantly, people will go because they feel better about it as compared to a one on one!

Well, i have a few “on-line” relationship stories. My most memorable was one of a long lost Soldier in Iraq, whom after six months of corresponding, came to see me, and we spent the most wonderful weekend together, up in a luxsury cabin in the mountains of New hampshire! Both falling in-love, but knowing we could never be together.
I have met some nice guys, I must admit, they are out there! Just like you and I.
There are some wierdos, freaks, and a-holes. But heck, where isn’t there?
There are pros and cons to anything in life, just be careful, and watch your heart and your soul…. Good luck! and Happy Weekend!
